SESSION DETAILS

I am an Emerald Coast children’s and family portrait photographer. I’m striving to achive a photojurnalistic, candid style of photo. Usually I get out of the way and let kids to be kids. There is no posing or hair fixing or saying “cheese”.
My style is contemporary which seeks to get a little closer to reality by allowing the family members to pose themselves and interact with each other in more natural way.
Please, play the session down when speaking to your child. Children should come into the time of shooting without feeling the pressure of any expectations.
I may ask parents off to one side or in the another room.
I take pride in evoking expressions from the children, and that is usually possible only without distractions.
Maternity sessions are the best scheduled in 7-8 month of pregnancy.
Newborns’ sessions are the best when they are still curly and sleepy around 6-14 days old.
Session duration:
It takes usually 1-2 hours.
For newborns’ sessions 2-3 hours.
During the session is always time for snack, changing diaper, nursing…there is absolutely no rush.
Location:
I come to your home and  use your child’s room, backyard, porch, garden and front yard (your child feels comfortable, secure and behaves more naturally surrounded with familiar objects) or any location of your choice- beach, park, playground, town area etc…
Clothing:
Clothing depends on you.
Classic and romantic (but not stuffy and stylized) gives portraits sense of timelessness…
My favorite: trendy and modern, grungy and urban brings fun and originality also accents your child personality and character.
The clothes should complement each other not necessary match to each other.
I aim for clothing is to resemble that of commercial session: same tone but doesn’t match.
Just think outside of the box and try to be innovative.
Props:
You can bring your child’s favorite toy, blanket or any prop to include in the session which express your child’s interest in it or your family’s tradition or attachment…
examples: skateboard, bike, football, guitar, tennis racket, wagon, basket and big plate (for babies and newborns), umbrella and rain boots.
